Driving school improvement through Partnership and Collaboration
As Spring officially begins I'm excited to be drawing closer to our BlueSky National Conference, which will take place on 2nd May 2018 in London Victoria . Free to both BlueSky and non-BlueSky members it promises to be an extremely interesting day focussing on 'driving school improvement through partnership and collaboration' with keynote speeches delivered by renowned experts such as Julie McCulloch, Interim Director of Policy at ASCL coupled with a wide selection of best practice breakout sessions delivered by senior leaders from a range of our Schools. We will have contributors from Hempstead Junior School, Langley Academy, Midlands Academy Trust and The Chalk Hills Academy. There are other contributors still to be confirmed.
Topics relevant to teachers and leaders of single schools, groups of schools and MATs include:
• Using BlueSky to support a culture of professional engagement
• Talent management within school and across a group or MAT
• Improving leadership and management with middle leaders
• Effective collaboration on Teaching and Learning within school and/or across a group or MAT
• Coordinating programmes across schools, in a group or MAT
• Organise, manage and evaluate staff performance within school and across a group or MAT
Delegates will also have the opportunity to share ideas, experience and advice with their peers as well as drop into our 'BlueSky Clinic' for helpful advice on individual performance management queries.
There will be an opportunity to attend a BlueSky Update session, BlueSky Admin session and for those wanting to attend who are considering BlueSky for your school or MAT, there will be an opportunity to attend a BlueSky Taster session to evaluate how BlueSky can support your vision.
With so many schools joining forces in alliances, federations and MATs, forming close partnerships and collaborating to share best practice and make the most of limited resources has become the norm. A huge positive in what is a difficult time for many education establishments!
However, in this climate it is important that MATs and other groups ensure they implement standard operating procedures across their schools, bringing equality and transparency when it comes to senior management decisions on issues such as performance-related pay.
At BlueSky we anticipated these changes four years ago and commenced work on our new Partnership module – a tool which allows MATs and groups of schools to track and evaluate staff performance across their networks. Our Partnership module also opens up the opportunity for SLTs to barter and trade services, for example swapping a language specialist in one school for a maths specialist in another.
However we want to help schools go even further.
Faced with shrinking budgets and staff shortages it is more important than ever for schools to work together to share resources and ultimately improve standards.
That is why we've gathered together our team of experts for one day at our National Conference to help you, as school and academy leaders, drive up standards and to nurture and develop your most valued asset – your staff.
The conference is free to attend for up to two delegates from each institution and is open to BlueSky and non-BlueSky members alike. If you would like to book on to this event click here or to find out more please email: firstname.lastname@example.org or call +44(0)1483 880004.
I look forward to seeing you there!
