New National Professional Qualification for Senior Leadership - Cohort 1

The National Professional Qualification for Senior Leadership (NPQSL) is a qualification that provides national recognition of your leadership development and professional achievement as a senior leader. NPQSL is for those individuals who not only have responsibility for leading a team, but are also involved in leading a range of issues that affect the whole school or organisation. It’s aimed at senior leaders, including experienced middle leaders, deputy heads, SENCOs and advanced skills teachers and other senior staff looking for further professional development but not aspiring to headship at this stage in their career. The qualification will support you in becoming a highly effective senior leader with the skills, confidence and knowledge to contribute to the strategic development of your school or organisation as part of the senior leadership team Overview: Session Dates: 9th November 2017, 30th November 2017, 9th January 2018(Assessment Session), 25th January 2018, 15th March 2018, 26th April 2018, 14th June 2018, To achieve the NPQSL qualification you’ll need to successfully complete all essential modules ) and the choice of extension sessions. Each module offers up to 50 hours of blended learning. This typically consists of 3 hours of face-to-face activity (run at Windsor); plus 20 hours workplace learning, 6 hours of coaching/ reflection and 18 hours online learning. NPQSL with Windsor offers: Twilight sessions minimising the impact on your teaching commitments, High quality learning materials, refined and improved during our extensive experience delivering this programme, Opportunities to think about the implications for your own leadership through discussion and debate with peers and your coach, A focus on a whole school improvement activity undertaken in the workplace – delivering real benefits for you, your students and contributing positively to self-evaluation and your SDP/SIP. The assurance of a qualification independently assessed and which can contribute towards a Master’s degree. Assessment is via one extended school improvement task and a reflective assessment paper summarising learning. Extension sessions are detailed on the flyer attached as a resource.
