Course description

The National Professional Qualification for Middle Leadership (NPQML) provides national recognition of your leadership development and professional achievement as a middle leader. NPQML is aimed at individuals with responsibility for leading a team, including key stage/subject/curriculum leaders, heads of department and pastoral leaders. The qualification is designed to support you in becoming a highly effective middle leader, with the skills, confidence and knowledge to drive successful team performance and improve classroom practice. Overview: To achieve the NPQML qualification you’ll need to successfully complete all essential modules and the choice of 4 extension sessions. Each module offers up to 50 hours of blended learning. This typically consists of 3 hours of face-to-face activity (run at Windsor); plus 20 hours workplace learning, 6 hours of coaching/ reflection and 18 hours online learning. NPQML with Windsor offers: : Twilight sessions minimising the impact on your teaching commitments, High quality learning materials, refined and improved during our extensive experience delivering this programme, Opportunities to refine your own leadership by reviewing research and case studies and through discussion with peers and a coach, A focus on a school improvement activity undertaken in the workplace – delivering real benefits for you, your students and contributing positively to self-evaluation and your SDP/SIP. The assurance of a qualification independently assessed and which can contribute towards a Master’s degree. Assessment is via one extended school improvement task and a reflective assessment paper summarising learning. Dates and times All modular sessions run from 3.00 – 6.00 to minimise impact on classrooms.
