The importance of CPD in schools

Why professional development is now moving centre stage in schools

We recently surveyed BlueSky members, asking how professional learning is managed in schools and how it was linked to school priorities. In the first of a series of blogs, we share some of the results and how this fits with wider changes in schools.

CPD is increasingly seen as vital to driving individual school improvement as well as a major tactic in the battle to retain staff. And it’s now being taken seriously at the strategic level.

Spotlight on behaviour

We’ve partnered with Sue Cowley to create a suite of brand-new modules for BlueSky Learning, exploring strategies and advice for establishing and managing behaviour in Primary and Secondary classrooms.

The first two modules are available now: ‘Primary Behaviour: Establishing Expectations and Building an Ethos’ and ‘Establishing Expectations and Building Routines in the Primary Setting’ at the link below.

You can also read her accompanying blog ‘Ten top tips on setting expectations in the Primary classroom’.
