Digital Literacy

Woodfield Teaching School, Glenwood Avenue, London, NW9 7LY

Course description

Develop digital literacy in your school through this comprehensive 9-10 week core skills training which offers a blend of face-to-face sessions and online support. During this programme you will: • Have an opportunity to become active learners through planning and implementing your own enquiry to enhance digital literacy in your own school • Receive practical examples of how others have developed digital literacy • Work with others to identify opportunities to develop digital literacy within your schools and contexts • Explore referenced evidence of how digital literacy can be incorporated into practice • Receive an internationally referenced basic theoretical understanding of digital literacy and its core elements There is no specific or correct way to develop and implement digital literacy. Therefore, the training seeks to develop your thinking and practice suited to your specific context. TANGIBLE RESULTS FOR YOU AND YOUR SCHOOL See the difference by implementing your own enquiry or intervention with colleagues and/or students: • Capture evidence of activities, impacts and outcomes • Review and reflect on lessons learnt, impacts, what went well, and what could be improved • Communicate key findings to others e.g. colleagues, parents, students, wider communities, and to other participants on training • Refine and develop approaches and next steps for further embedding digital literacy in schools and classrooms
