Develop Citizenship in your school through this comprehensive 9-10 week core skills training which offers a blend of face-to-face sessions and online support. During this programme you will: • Learn leadership and self-evaluation techniques to embed Citizenship in your curricula and across your school • Confidently meet the requirement to promote British values • Explore ways in which Citizenship can be taught • Identify opportunities within your school to develop Citizenship • Receive an internationally referenced basic theoretical understanding of Citizenship • Discover how a critical exploration of values with school students supports their understanding of what it means to be an active citizen • Unpack key concepts to help support pupils in taking informed and effective action as citizens This programme will focus on four features of citizenship, exploring how they interrelate and how citizenship values, understanding and skills can be developed in school. 1. Citizenship as a Status (Rights and Duties) 2. Citizenship as a Feeling (Identity & Belonging) 3. Citizenship as a Practice (Making a Difference) 4. Citizenship as a Competence (Participation skills)
